Family Goldmine is an observational documentary about the quest of Claude Nicolay and his family to start an eco-friendly gold mine in Mali, West Africa, with no prior experience. The film was shot over three years, including during the war which started in 2012, and is a celebration of perseverance and the love that makes a family. It premiered internationally at CPH: DOX in Copenhagen in 2014, then at the Glasgow Film Festival in 2015. It was produced and directed by Robbie Fraser through Pure Magic Films.
